Dear eye tracking enthusiasts,

As we receive questions concerning the date of the next Polish Eye Tracking Conference, we would like to inform you that exceptionally the event will not take place in 2019.

There are several reasons for this decision. First of all, we have to rethink the formula of future editions of the conference. Co-organizing them with foreign partners was certainly very interesting and fruitful. It also made it possible to present our achievements on the European arena. At the same time, however, this formula pushed us away from the original idea, which contributed to the organization of the First Polish Eye Tracking Conference, which supposed to be a forum for a wide exchange of experiences of Polish enthusiasts and eye tracking enthusiasts. Secondly, 2019 is a special year for Polish universities. The collision with the Act 2.0 and universities restructuring plans largely limits the energy that we can devote to other academic matters.

Nevertheless, please follow our activities - we will do our best to meet you again in 2020 during the 7th Polish Eye Tracking Conference.

With best regards,

Dear learning process-measure enthusiasts,

The first SIG 27 conference in Oulu was a great success, with many interesting sessions and an amazing, supportive (Christmas-themed) atmosphere. This year we have decided to join forces of two communities that had, thus far, little interaction: on the one hand, a rising eye tracking community from Poland (and neighboring East European countries) and on the other hand, the recently founded and already very successful Special Interest Group 27 of the European Association of Research on Learning and Instruction. The idea behind organizing this joint conference is the wide overlap in interest between those two communities. But so far, there has been hardly any interaction between them. With this joint conference, we want to change that! Such a combined conference means twice as many interesting people to meet, learn from, and to collaborate with in future research. The combined conference will yield a great platform for the communication and exchange of experience with different fields of researches interested in different multimodal, multichannel process measures, such as computer log data, eye tracking, EEG, facial expressions of emotions, EDA, and observational data.

The coordinators of the SIG 27 invite you to take part in this conference. We hope to see you this summer in Warsaw!

Kind regards,
Halszka Jarodzka, Ellen Kok, and Nick Mudrick

Dear eye tracking researchers and practitioners,

we have the great pleasure of inviting you to the 6th Polish Eye Tracking Conference which will take place on 15-17 June 2018 in Warsaw at 55 Dobra Street, in the building of the Faculty of Applied Linguistics, University of Warsaw.

For five years now the conference has been gathering enthusiasts and practitioners of eye tracking from Poland and around the world, people who use this methodology in multifarious areas from teaching to the aircraft industry. Each year the event attracts not only experienced researchers, who have devoted a considerable part of their academic careers to eye tracking or who use eye tracking experiments to prove their theoretical hypotheses, but also the employees of companies that use eye tracking equipment to solve their everyday challenges, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students, who would like to know more about this technology and want to show their ideas and projects to the scientific community.

Since the first Polish Eye Tracking Conference in 2012, due to the joint efforts of the organisers it has been possible to ensure the high scientific level of the talks as well as the subsequent discussions. We naturally hope to maintain these standards at our conference in 2018.

The 2018 conference will be exceptional because it will combine two international projects: the 6th Polish Eye Tracking Conference and the 2nd EARLI SIG 27 Conference (27 Special Interest Group of the European Association of Research on Learning and Instruction, www.earli.org). Its interdisciplinary character will allow renowned specialists from various fields to honour the event with their presence.

The conference is aimed at all eye tracking enthusiasts: experienced specialists will share the results of their latest experiments and their scientific thoughts, young researchers will have the chance to extend their knowledge of this research methodology and acquaint themselves with state-of-the-art equipment, as well as ask various experts for precious insights into a host of issues, while those from the corporate sector will show how eye tracking methodology can be successfully implemented not only in scientific research, but also in business development and investments. The Polish Eye Tracking Conference will again be a place where science meets entrepreneurship and experience meets innovative creativity.

On behalf of the Scientific Committee I would like to invite you to take part in this conference.

See you in Warsaw!
Kind regards,
